Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to common questions about our services.
How do I book a keynote speaker with Essential Speakers?
Simple — just get in touch. You can enquire through the website or give us a call. Tell us a bit about your event, and we’ll recommend speakers who’ll fit your theme, audience and budget. We make the process easy from start to finish.
What types of speakers do you have available in Australia?
We represent a wide range of speakers — from business leaders and elite athletes to mental health advocates, innovation experts, and entertainers. Whether you're after impact, insight or inspiration, we’ve got the talent.
What’s the typical cost to book a keynote speaker in Australia?
Speaker fees vary depending on profile, experience, location, and availability — but generally range from $7500 to $25,000+. If you’ve got a specific budget in mind, we can tailor options accordingly.
Can you suggest a speaker that fits our brief or conference theme?
Yes, that’s exactly what we do. You don’t need to know who you’re after — just share your goals or topic, and we’ll shortlist speakers who align perfectly with your message and audience.
Do your speakers travel interstate or internationally?
Absolutely. Many of our speakers are happy to travel — whether it’s Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth or regional Australia. We also represent international speakers and can advise on travel arrangements and costs.
Do you manage logistics and accommodation for the speaker?
Yes, we work alongside you with this.
Can I book speakers for virtual or hybrid events?
Definitely. Many of our speakers are experienced with virtual delivery and hybrid formats. We’ll recommend those who can engage effectively online and work with your preferred platform.
How much lead time do you need to secure a speaker in Australia?
We recommend booking as early as possible — ideally 3 to 6 months out. That said, we’ve also pulled off great last-minute bookings. If you’re tight on time, just ask — we’ll do our best to make it happen.
Can the talk be tailored to our business, theme or audience?
Absolutely. Customisation is a big part of what makes a speaker effective. We’ll make sure the speaker is briefed and aligned with your audience and event goals.
I’m a speaker — how do I get represented by Essential Speakers?
We’re always on the lookout for fresh, relevant voices. If you think you’ve got something to say — and a track record to back it up — get in touch via our speaker enquiry form. Tell us who you are, who you speak to, and how you make an impact.
Do you represent non-exclusive speakers in Australia?
Yes. Many of our speakers are non-exclusive, which means you can work with other agencies or manage your own bookings as well. We focus on relationships, not contracts.
What’s your commission structure or fee for speakers?
We take a standard agency commission from the client side — so speakers receive their quoted fee in full. There’s no upfront cost to be listed, and we only earn when you get booked.
Will you promote me across both Australia and New Zealand?
Yes, Essential Speakers works actively across both markets. If you’re a good fit, we’ll promote you on both our NZ and AU sites, and actively pitch you to relevant clients on both sides of the ditch.
What sort of events do you book speakers for in Australia?
Everything from national conferences and internal staff events to industry summits, government briefings, awards nights, and leadership retreats. If it needs a voice that cuts through — we’re there.

How are your speakers vetted or approved?
We take pride in quality. All speakers listed with us are reviewed for credibility, experience, and audience impact. We also listen to client feedback closely to ensure we’re always recommending talent that delivers.
Why should I choose Essential Speakers over an Australian bureau?
We’re agile, highly responsive, and focused on matching the right speaker to the right moment — not just pushing the usual names. Our speakers aren’t just booked — they’re backed.

Do you only book well-known personalities, or emerging talent too?
