Mark Bouris AM is an Australian entrepreneur, finance specialist and media personality who built his reputation taking on Australia’s banks. The founder of Wizard Home Loans and Executive Chairman of Yellow Brick Road, he is the former host of The Apprentice and Celebrity Apprentice on the Nine Network and The Mentor on the Seven Network. Who is Mark Bouris?
Mark Bouris grew up in Punchbowl in Western Sydney and founded Wizard Home Loans in 1996, growing it into Australia’s second-largest non-bank mortgage lender before selling it to General Electric in 2004. In 2007 he founded Yellow Brick Road, where he is Executive Chairman, continuing his mission to give everyday Australians access to quality home loans and financial services.
His sharp financial commentary and “tell it straight” style took him to television as host of The Apprentice and Celebrity Apprentice on the Nine Network, and The Mentor on the Seven Network. In 2017 he founded Mentored, a platform that helps small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs access advice and guidance. He hosts the podcasts Straight Talk, The Mentor and Project 100, his science-backed series on living a longer, healthier life.
Appointed a Member of the Order of Australia in 2015 for significant service to the finance industry and tertiary education, Mark is the author of Wealth Wizard, The Yellow Brick Road to Your Financial Security, What It Takes and Rise. He has sat on the board of the Sydney Roosters since 2003, and celebrated the club’s 2026 NRL premiership.
